TalentSort is a recruiting search engine that's powered by an innovative algorithm. The algorithm ranks software engineers. The ranking itself is "blind", the same way "justice is blind".
The above expression means that justice should be impartial and objective. There is an allusion here to the Greek statue for justice, wearing a blindfold. So as not to treat friends differently from strangers. Or rich people better than the poor ones.
We have built TalentSort to follow the above model. The algorithm analyzes a software engineer's code and nothing else. It looks for sheer talent, rather than one's pedigree. We have designed it this way on purpose: to be blind to a person's background. A candidate's country of origin, sex or race is never factored in. All that matters is one's ability to write good code.
We humans tend to favor people who are like us. This is a well known bias in the recruiting industry as well as in the world at large. A candidate who graduated from an Ivy League university may be a good developer; that's true. But TalentSort won't take any of that into consideration. To our blind ranking algorithm, two developers are equal if they write beautiful code. At the end of the day, that's what's important: to write good code.
